Respiratory Therapy Program

Respiratory therapists help diagnose, treat and educate people with breathing problems. These problems can include asthma, emphysema, pneumonia and those on ventilators (breathing machines) until they are well enough to breathe on their own.

Blessing Hospital serves as one of the clinical training sites for the Respiratory Therapy Program of the Hannibal Career and Technical Center and Hannibal LaGrange College. At the end of this two-year program, graduates earn an Associates degree and are eligible to take the national certification exam in respiratory therapy.

Application requirements:

 

  • Be a high school graduate.
  • Have taken algebra, biology and chemistry.
  • Earn an ACT score of at least 18.
