CPR Classes

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - Learn to perform this life-saving technique on children and adults

These classes are conducted according to standards established by the American Heart Association and includes background information about heart disease, risk factors, prudent heart living and heart and lung function. One-rescuer CPR, and the management of foreign-body airway obstruction for adults, children, and infants will be taught.

CPR Class for Healthcare Providers
This course is for individuals who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of healthcare settings.  Students must pass skills tests and a written test.  Students are encouraged to read the manual before class, bring the manual to class and follow along during the class, and use the manual as a reference after class.  Students will receive a 2 year course completion card after successfully completing the course.  BLS for Healthcare Provider course topics include:  adult/child and infant 1- and 2-rescuer CPR, ventilations with a bag mask, choking, and AED use. The $51 class fee includes the instruction manual and a CPR certification card valid for two years. 

Heartsaver CPR
Heartsaver is developed for people with limited or no medical training who need a credential in CPR and have a duty to respond as part of the work they do.  To receive a course completion card, Heartsaver students must attend a course and pass the skills test.  Course completion cards are good for 2 years.  There are no prerequisites for Heartsaver.  The topics covered are: adult/child CPR and choking, infant CPR and choking, adult/child CPR with mask, and infant CPR with mask. The class fee is $48.50.

In order to process your registration, the class fee must be paid in advance and the course book and pretest obtained from the Educational Services Department located on Blessing Hospital's 14th Street Campus.

Be sure to wear comfortable clothing because the class involves working with training manikins on the floor. It is important to understand that the mannequin portion of the course will involve strenuous physical activity.

Upon completion of the course, your course participation card will be mailed to you within one week.
