Man to Man Cancer Support Group

The Blessing Cancer Center is pleased to announce the Man to Man support group uniquely designed for men with prostate cancer facilitated by Blessing Cancer Center and supported by the American Cancer Society is free of charge and is open to all men.     

Man to Man offers education and support, not medical advice; has a policy of confidentiality so that members feel comfortable to talk openly and honestly; and promotes a non-judgmental attitude and objectivity towards its members and the choices they make about their care. Man to Man provides accurate, factual information to men and their partners about prostate cancer in a supportive environment following essential guidelines that assure program integrity and credibility. Man to Man is an ideal vehicle by which new relationships are formed between patients/survivors and care providers with a two-way exchange of information, trust, and respect.

Meetings are held on the third Sunday of each month from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m.  Holiday Inn - Tony’s Too (Lake Room) at 4821 Oak Street. RSVP required for attendance by contacting Rosie Scott at 217-223-8400, ext. 7709. Mr. Don Russell, business owner and production assistant at WTJR, Channel 16 TV station will facilitate this progressive support group. Don, a five time cancer survivor is an experienced  “Peer to Peer “ advocate for the Blessing Cancer Center and has been an American Cancer Society Volunteer for the past two years.
